Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Simla

Planning of structural renovation of the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies housed in a 110 year old colonial building in Simla, was carried out. The building was the residence of Viceroys. There is long history of distress in different parts of this building, which from time to time was being attended to by the CPWD.

Later the Indian National Trust for Architectural Restoration (INTACH) was approached to make an indepth study of causes of the distresses and suggest remedial measures. MRC was a part of the INTACH team as Civil and Structural Engineers to undertake this study. After extensive investigations a comprehensive report was submitted to INTACH.
