International Wing and Remodelling and Expansion of Existing Terminal
Buildings at Hyderabad Airport were provided. The total built up area
is 21,000 Sqm and cost of construction is approximately Rs. 40 crores.
CPWD provided Construction Management Services. The buildings were
completed in 1998.
The airport has been designed to meet domestic and international traffic
growth requirements up to the year 2020. The ultimate passenger handling
capacity is 3000 domestic and 600 international (arrival and departure)
flights per .
The most modern facilities have been provided. These include four
aerobridges, escalators and
a 230 metre long flyover connecting the approach road directly to
the first floor of the New Integrated Building.
For the convenience of passengers, spacious departure and arrival
concourses, adequate airline backup offices, numerous check in counters
and security booths, a post office, public call offices, a bank, snack
bars, viewers gallery, rest rooms, a reserved lounge, well furnished
arrival and departure lounges, an efficient baggage check-in and delivery
system, escalators, conveyor belts, information counters, a modern
restaurant with a full-scale kitchen and a spacious car park have
been designed. These are positioned to cut down movement to a minimum,
save time and avoid congestion.
