Maurya Hotel & Tower

New Delhi

Four wings connected to a central core accomodate 350 rooms in this five-star hotel. Each wing has cascading landscaped terraces. Post-tensioned vierendeel trusses spanning 15m carry the upper floors. Precast trussed planks and hollow blocks have been used to cast the main floors to effect economy in material and to reduce substantially the construction time. The front basement of the hotel houses a multipurpose hall measuring 30m x 30m having a double layer space grid in structural steel designed for a landscaped earthfil to provide a lawn.
